As the holidays approach, the question of what to do when you are abroad for a prolonged period of time comes up. Do you take the chance to go back home and reconnect with friends and family or do you experience the festivities in other countries?

I would definitely experience festivities abroad. You can get to know more about a culture because there are activities and food that are specific for winter. Winter festivities can be social gatherings so it can be a way to connect with people abroad. And staying abroad will save you time and money, and therefore will reduce hassle. We have technology available to us that allows us to greet our love ones (e.g. Skype, FaceTime).
